our mission

is to cultivate healthy communities through food and education

allegheny farm

The AMI Allegheny Farm in Highland County produced over 7,500 pounds of organically grown produce that was distributed within the Highland Community. We donated 2,300 pounds of produce through our partnerships with the Virginia Department of Aging Services, Department of Social Services, and the Highland County Food Bank, reaching 281 county residents. We provided access to nutrient-dense, organically-grown food throughout the community via the Highland County Farmers Market, newly established Roots Market, and CSA shares to local residents.

Augusta Health Farm

Over 25,000 pounds of organically grown produce was distributed through the hospital food system, clinical integration initiatives, and community outreach programs. The farm supplied 4,461 fresh vegetable boxes and educational materials to food-insecure families and individuals in our community. In 2023, 60 food and wellness workshops were held and 2,348 individuals were reached through our community outreach programs, weekly markets at the farm, and CSA Shares for hospital employees. The AMI Farm at Augusta Health continues to grow, supporting food and health initiatives throughout Staunton, Waynesboro, and Augusta County.
